Yep, that's something else. Ditto on the pickguard. Very classy.

Thanks for all the good comments!

The pickguard is Tor-tis from LMI. I really like 'em.

I did finish the guitar myself. I do all my own finishing work.

The shape is from the Taylor Grand Concert template you can order from LMI. I was disappointed with the template though. It was really rough right off the bandsaw and the shape had inconsistencies in it. Flat spots and points, so I had to smooth it out with my disc sander.

I don't have a buyer yet for this guitar but I sure would like one. Anybody got any ideas on how to sell a guitar like this? I have in the past sold to music stores and on ebay. But, the higher your prices get the more you narrow your options.

My spray booth is a 4’x4’x4’ plywood box. I have two layers of filters in the back of it. Behind the filters I have a pipe that goes to my blower. That’s what moves the air. A squirrel cage blower that’s built for paint booths. I have the exhaust pipe from the blower going into a thing I built that’s fitted into a window. It allows me to open and close a door which cuts off the air flow. Hope some of that makes sense.

Great look. Like the subtle design of the bridge. Really nice finish.

Here is a few pics of my spray setup. As long as there is a little airflow coming into the shop from an opened window or something it works great. It would be impossible to have a spray booth setup that worked properly without having any outside air coming in with a small shop. It took me a while to learn that.
If you have any questions just ask.

Cool setup Colby! You got me thinking and I think I might just build one like that myself. I have a explosion proof fan that I got at a yard sale for 10 bucks a year or so ago, just need to build the booth and a window insert like you have.

BTW, do you just use furnace filters in yours? I was wondering if that would trap most of the solids that were headed outside.

Really nice set up Colby, Thanks!

I do have a question that will seem obvious to you but what if i used a kitchen fan with a squirrel cage, would it be dangerous with the fumes...Colby or anyone?

Be sure the stove is off before you start spraying!

Dave,
I do use furnace filters in mine. I use to layers. Eight on the back layer and eight on the front layer. It takes 16 filters all together. They seem to trap most of the finish and just blow out the fumes. After a few spray sessions I take these outside and blow them out with my air compressor.

Serge,
If you have a good squirrel cage blower I don't see why you would need another fan. The blower has air intake on the side (I have this pipe going into the back of the booth) and the air exhaust is on the top (this pipe leads to the window). I'm not for sure about all the explosion proof issues I just know my is because it's built for this kind of use. I think most blowers like this would be safe though.
